School is ugh

I can't wait for Christmas break. Seriously. Whoa is me lol.

I'm taking probability and Statistics, and for anyone who knows anything about math, or just anything in general, this is some HARD Sh&$. I love math - love me some algebra, even some geometry and pre-calculus - but not the P&S. UGH.

World Religions is going okay. Took a test, and getting the grade back Monday. I did an essay on Judaism, Christianity and Islam - how they are similar and different.

OH - fun fun -

I'm going to Wilmington next Thursday! I'm excited. I'm presenting a paper I wrote which was almost a year-and-a-half in the making. Long time. This conference should be a good one. I travel Thursday, perusing the town Friday, presenting Saturday, and heading back Saturday afternoon/evening and into Sunday.

Next comes Thanksgiving break hahaha. If only it were a break. Alas, there is too much work to be done.

Life is so crazy. I can't believe that my first semester as a senior is almost over! Crazy!

I went in for an internship interview a couple of weeks ago. I think it went really well. It's for Lark Books based out of Asheville, and it's a publishing company. Not so many of those around anymore, but it's nice to know that there's one around the corner.

Not sure if I had said before, but I got inducted into ODK this year. The ODK officials that send out the certificates spelled my name wrong on it, and I'm just like, really!? That was about two months ago. Today I got the corrected certificate, and my name's on there all nice and pretty, and spelled correctly lol Took 'em long enough!

Just watched the season premiere of True Blood Season 2 - and HOLY SHIT.

I'm stoked.  This is crazy.  Can't wait to see where it goes.  It's not the same as the book series.  In a way that's definitely a good thing - it makes the show's longevity more likely.  However, it's starting to go WAY off.  I hope that it doesn't change the core of the storyline, and that it circles back around.  But either way, unless something really drastic happens, I'm sticking around for the long haul.   

Well, I don't want to reveal too much, just in case someone reads this and hasn't seen it yet.

But damn - watch it already!  It's crazy awesome - like....zomg!

I need to watch Weeds.  Season 5 started last week.  I watched the first episode and I can't help but feel that it wasn't all there...I have to watch it online because I don't get Showtime.  It seems to cut off.  I hope that I'm wrong and it was just stopped right at the end.  The next episode is on right now, actually.  Gonna be watching that tomorrow.

I've read 16 books since school let out in May.  The one I'm reading now I read in high school.  I couldn't really remember it all, just that it was very good, so I bought it.  It's called Stolen Lives: Twenty Years in a Desert Prison.  It's a real life account of a woman who went from luxury to hell.  It's an incredible tale, and all the more so for its truth and honesty and being a real life account.

Got the new DMB album Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.  It's fantastic.  "Shake Me Like a Monkey," "Why I Am," and "Squirm" are my favs of the moment.  Wonderful.  I highly recommend it.  The album's got a bit of everything.

And posting the last thing of the day, the best for last, I got a new computer!  An HP.  It's taking a tiny bit of getting used to, but it's going to be a great fit.  The keyboard is set at an angle, so that should help me out with my carpel tunnel.  It's chrome color and has all these neat features on it.  It even has a remote - how cool is that???

Now all I have to do is make some more money and get a new TV...then I can get a plug that will go between the computer and the TV...then I can do some nifty things between the two...the possibilities are endless :D

For the rest of the week I need to continue working on this undergraduate project I've got.  It's due in about a month and a half.  I need to book it to get it completed, and not just completed but done quite well - something that I can be proud of.

I might be taking a road trip to Florida at the beginning of the month with a friend...a spur of the moment thing.  My dad's working at Universal for the Harry Potter theme park, and he can get tickets...and he can probably get tickets to Disney too. 

Then a dear friend is coming up to stay for a weekish mid-July.  Can't wait to see her again.

Turn your handwriting into a font!

And it's free!  I tried it out and I'm going to have to redo it because some of my letters are 'above the line'...but it's nifty - it's me and my handwriting.  Be sure to really press down the ink of your pen into the paper while you're writing the letters and what nots out.  I have to keep mine on bold to really see my font clearly.

Check it out and follow the directions well (including the tips!)

If you figure out how to place your signature within a document, let me know, because I couldn't figure that bit out...though, it might be a good thing not to have your signature readily available on the computer, just in case some good techie person gets hold of it....

So, yay!  Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is getting closer.  I wish I'd already seen it, but what can I do?  Wait for the premiere of course!  Wouldn't that rock if I got to go to New York?  I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!

Anywho,  watch the trailer.  I loved the end where Hermione hits Harry on the head for his smartass comment lol - classic.  Reminds me of me and Cody.
